On 19th July 2021, the government introduced the Marine Aids to Navigation Bill 2021 in the Rajya Sabha. It aims to repeal the Lighthouse Act of 1927 to make way for shifting to modern aids from lighthouses for marine navigation. It was passed in the Lok Sabha in March.
The Supreme Court in a 2:1 majority verdict maintained the legitimacy of the 97th constitutional amendment that deals with issues related to management of cooperative societies but nullified a part related to their setting up and functioning.

Under Project 75-India, the Government of India has issued a tender of Rs 50,000 crores to build 6 conventional diesel-electric submarines. These submarines will be larger than the Scorpène-class submarines which are being built at the Mazagon Dockyards Limited, Mumbai. The tender has been issued to Larsen and Toubro and Mazagon Dockyards Limited.

The existing BharatNet was connecting all the Gram Panchayats (GPs) by laying of OFC between Block and GPs. The scope of BharatNet has now been extended to connect all the Inhabited Villages of the country, approx. 6.43 lakhs (inclusive of GPs).
