JASMINE HARRISON YOUNGEST SOLO FEMALE TO ROW ACROSS THE ATLANTIC OCEAN

Jasmine Harrison is the youngest solo female to row across the Atlantic Ocean. She is a 21-year-old swimming teacher from Thirsk in North Yorkshire and reached the island of Antigua, the Caribbean nation. She completed the journey in 70-days three hours and 48 minutes in the west to east direction.

PANCHAGANGAVALI KANDLA FORESTS RECEIVED AS ‘BIODIVERSITY HOTSPOT’ TAG

The Panchagangavali Kandla forests which will receive the ‘biodiversity hotspot’ tag are located in Karnataka. The forest is located in the Panchagangavali Estuary in Kundapur taluk in the Udupi district and is spread over an area of 100 ACRES.

INDIA AND MAURITIUS SIGN COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC COOPERATION AND PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT

The government of Mauritius and India signed the India-Mauritius Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership Agreement (CECPA) in Port Louis. CECPA is the first trade agreement signed by India with a country in Africa.

'MAKING PEACE WITH NATURE' REPORT RELEASED

The 'Making Peace with Nature' report has been released by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). It is the first synthesis report of the UNEP and is a scientific blueprint for tackling and combating emergencies associated with biodiversity, climate and pollution.

INDIA TO IDENTIFY NON-ALCOHOLIC FATTY LIVER DISEASE

India has become the first country in the world to identify the need for action for Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. The central government has launched the operational guidelines to integrate the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke with the Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. The move aims to move to preventive health from diagnostic cure.

UTTAR PRADESH GOVERNMENT PRESENTED THE FIRST PAPERLESS BUDGET

The Uttar Pradesh Government presented the first paperless budget of any state in India and also the first paperless budget of the state assembly. It was also the biggest budget of the state amounting to approximately Rs 5,50,270 crores in line with the idea of Atma Nirbhar and self-reliant Uttar Pradesh.

DAMAGE CONTROL SIMULATOR (DCS) TO BE LOCATED AT PORT BLAIR

The Damage Control Simulator (DCS) of the Indian Navy will be located in Port Blair, which will be developed by Goa Shipyards Limited (GSL). The Damage Control Simulator (DCS) will serve as an important simulator to train Naval personnel in damage management on warships at Port Blair.
