Bhawana Kanth becomes 1st Woman IAF Pilot to qualify for Combat Missions

Scripting history, Flight Lieutenant Bhawana Kanth on 22 May became the first woman pilot of the Indian Air Force (IAF) to qualify to undertake combat missions on a fighter jet.

Supreme Court reaches its full strength of 31

Four new judges are likely to be sworn in as Supreme Court justices soon, taking the total to the court's full strength of 31 for the first time in five years.

Justices Aniruddha Bose, AS Bopanna, Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai and Surya Kant have been elevated to the top court.

His party the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is poised to secure the majority.

'Not all animals migrate by choice' campaign launched by UN

United Nation (UN) Environment India and Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) of India, for the International Day of Biological Diversity, which was celebrated on 22 May, initiated an awareness campaign by the name of 'Not all animals migrate by choice' to be displayed at major airports across India.

The campaign was inaugurated by Dia Mirza, the UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador (and also UN Secretary-General's SDG Advocate), in presence of officials from Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Wildlife Crime Control Bureau of India (WCCB), UN Environment, UN agencies, and GMR Group.

Kids Right Index: India ranks 117th

The annual global index named Kids Right Index has ranked countries on the basis of how much they are involved and equipped to improve child rights.

India ranked 117th out of 181 countries.

Iceland topped the ranking followed by Portugal.

Vice President calls for protection of Ongole cattle

The Vice President of India has called for protecting the indigenous Ongole cattle breed.

He has said this while releasing a Compendium on Ongole cattle breed at the Swarna Bharat Trust in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
