The United Nations on 22 May 2020, listed the KHUDOL initiative of Manipur among the top 10 initiatives across the globe to combat COVID19 pandemic.
The KHUDOL(gift) initiative is run by a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Ya_All and is a crowdfunded initiative of Manipur. The initiative aims at ensuring that food is supplied and health services are provided to LGBTQ community, the daily wage earners, people affected with HIV, children and adolescents.
The International Day to End Obstetric Fistula is observed on 23 May every year. The theme of International Day to End Obstetric Fistula 2020 is "End gender inequality! End health inequities! End Fistula now!".
Obstetric Fistula is among the most severe and tragic injuries that can happen at childbirth.
Five initiatives on biodiversity conservation were launched by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change on 22 May 2020 on the occasion of International Day of Biodiversity. The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Biodiversity Samrakshan Internship Programme has been launched by the Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar. The internship is a one-year program for postgraduate students interested in biodiversity.

The Government of India has been bringing-out a Status Paper on the Debt of Government since the fiscal year 2010-2011.
World Turtle Day is observed every year on 23 May to raise awareness regarding tortoises and turtles. The day is utilized as a platform to generate awareness regarding the measures to be taken to help the turtles survive and thrive in the natural environment without interruptions by humans. The day was started by the American Tortoise Rescue which was founded in 1990.
Dr Sanjay Kumar, Director, Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT), based in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh has stated that the chemicals in Kangra tea could prove effective in enhancing immunity.
