MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE & FARMERS WELFARE PROPOSED THE NATIONAL MISSION FOR EDIBLE OIL

The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare has proposed the National Mission for Edible Oil to increase the domestic availability and reduce the import dependency. The mission has been proposed for the next 5 years in the span of 2020-21 to 2024-25.

RAJASTHAN RELEASED NEW M-SAND POLICY

Ashok Gehlot, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, has released the new M-Sand Policy of Rajasthan. The policy defines the M-Sand as the manufactured sand produced by crushing the minerals and it meets the standards of ISO code 383: 2016.

ZOOLOGICAL SURVEY OF INDIA RELEASED BIRDS OF THE SUNDARBAN BIOSPHERE RESERVE

The Zoological Survey of India, founded on 1 July 1916 by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (Government of India) released the publication, Birds of the Sundarban Biosphere Reserve. 

The scientists found that there are 428 bird species Sundarbans out of which masked finfoot and the Buffy fish owl, are recorded only from the Sunderbans. The area is home to 9 out of 12 species of kingfishers found in India.

GREEN TAX FOR PERSONAL VEHICLES OLDER THAN 15 YEARS

The Centre decided to impose additional taxes on old vehicles that are unfit for roads as 'green taxes'. The transport vehicles older than 8 years will be charged with the green tax at the rate of 10 to 25% of road tax at the time of renewal of fitness certificate. Public transport vehicles like city buses will pay a lower Green Tax.

PRESIDENT APPROVES TATRAKSHAK MEDALS TO INDIAN COAST GUARD PERSONNEL

The President of India has awarded the President's Tatrakshak Medal (PTM) and Tatrakshak Medal (TM) on the occasion of the Republic Day 2021, to the Indian Coast Guard personnel for their act of gallantry and distinguished service.

Tatrakshak Medal (Gallantry) has been awarded to DIG Anurag Kaushik, Pratap Narayan, Yaduraj Yadav, Ravi Kumar.

ICC INTRODUCES PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARDS TO RECOGNISE BEST PERFORMANCES OF CRICKETERS

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the 'ICC Player of the Month' awards. Its aim is to recognise the best performances of male and female cricketers across all three forms of international cricket.

INTERNATIONAL MONETARY FUND (IMF) ESTIMATED THAT INDIA’S GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT (GDP)

The World Economic Outlook of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has estimated that India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

As per International Monetary Fund (IMF) India will grow by 11.5% in the Financial Year (FY) 2021-22. India will be the only major economy to register a double-digit growth this year, followed by China, which is expected to grow by 8.1% in 2021.
