The authorised capital of Food Corporation of India increased to Rs.10000 cr from Rs.3500 cr

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, which is chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved to increase the authorised capital of Food Corporation of India (FCI) from the existing 3,500 crore rupees to 10,000 crore rupees. FCI was initiated under the Food Corporations Act 1964, to implement the food policy of the government.

2019 Global Diplomacy Index

The 2019 Global Diplomacy Index was released on 27th November 2019 by the Sydney-based Lowy Institute which gives the latest statistics, marking how the world’s diplomatic networks are expanding and, in some instances, shrinking. China has overtaken the US in the year 2019 with 276 embassies and consulates worldwide, which is three more than the US, but Beijing has three more consulates. India is ranked 12th among the 61 countries which are ranked by the Lowy Institute.

Muttiah Muralitharan is likely to be the Governor of Northern Province of Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan spinner legend Muttiah Muralitharan is likely to be governor of the country’s Tamil-dominated Northern Province after President Gotabaya Rajapaksa invited him to accept the post. He is a 47-year-old ace spinner and a record holder for highest wickets in test cricket (800).

NuGen Mobility Summit-2019 in Haryana

The NuGen Mobility Summit 2019 was held at the International Centre for Automotive Technology Centre (ICAT) in Gurugram, Haryana. This summit was addressed by the Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari. The summit will be held from 27-29 November 2019.

Govt to set up new rocket launch pad near Kulasekarapattinam

Government is planning to set up a new rocket launch pad in Tamil Nadu. At present, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has two launch pads at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. This would be set up in Kulasekarapattinam in the state of Tamil Nadu.

Approval of the long-pending demand for development of Loktak Inland Waterways Project

Union Ministry of Shipping has approved the long pending demand of Government of Manipur for development of Loktak Inland Waterways Project in the northeastern state. The request for the development of this project was made by L Susindro Meitei the Chairman of Loktak Development Authority and MLA Khurai in Manipur.

BlackBuck partners with IDFC and Yes Bank to provide FASTag

BlackBuck, the online trucking platform, has partnered with private lenders "IDFC Bank" and "Yes Bank" on 28 November 2019. The partnership aims to provide FASTags to truck owners free of cost. FASTag is an electronic toll collection system.
