GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES MISSION COVID SURAKSHA TO ACCELERATE INDIAN COVID-19 VACCINE DEVELOPMENT

The Government of India (GOI) has announced the third stimulus package of Rs. 900 Crore for the Mission COVID Suraksha- The Indian COVID-19 Vaccine Development Mission.

The COVID-19 Vaccine development Mission will help accelerate the development of approx. 5-6 vaccine candidates and ensure that these are brought closer to licensure and introduction in the market for consideration of regulatory authorities for introduction in public health systems, to combat further spread of COVID infection.

DUTEE CHAND AND KT IRFAN INCLUDED IN TOPS CORE GROUP

8 Track and Field Athletes were included in the core group of the Target Olympic Podium Scheme.

The following athletes were inducted into the TOPS scheme: Shivpal Singh (Men’s Javelin Throw and qualified for Olympics), Annu Rani (Women’s Javelin Throw), KT Irfan (Men’s 20km walk and qualified for Olympics), Arokia Rajiv (Men’s 400m and 4x400m relay), Noah Nirmal Tom (Men’s 400m and 4x400m relay), Alex Anthony (Men’s 400m and 4x400m relay), MR Poovamma (Women’s 400m and 4x400m relay) and Dutee Chand (Women’s 100m and 200m).

GREETINGS ON THE EVE OF BIRTHDAY OF GURU NANAK

Prime Minister and President of India has greeted the people on the occasion of Parkash Purab of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Guru Nanak was born on April 15, 1469. His birth anniversary is celebrated on Kartik Puranmashi, the full moon day in the month of October or November.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY

Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose was born on 30 November 1858, in Mymensingh, Faridpur, part of the present-day Dhaka District in Bangladesh. In 1895, he was the first to demonstrate wireless communication using radio waves.

In 1938, Jawaharlal Nehru, declared that ‘the Constitution of free India must be framed, without outside interference, by a Constituent Assembly elected on the basis of adult franchise’. The total strength of the Constituent Assembly was to be 389.
