INS Kalinga inaugurates 2 MW Solar Power Plant

A 2 Megawatt (MW) Solar Photovoltaic Plant has been commissioned at INS Kalinga, Visakhapatnam by Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command (ENC) on 28 May 2020. The establishment of the 2 MW Solar Photovoltaic Plant has been launched in keeping with the initiative of Government of India for the promotion of Solar Power.

Rs 445 Crore approved by Centre for implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in Chhattisgarh

The central government has given approval of Rs 445 Crore for implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in the State of Chhattisgarh in 2020-21. The state has planned to provide tap connection to 20 lakh households out of 45 lakh households.

Career skills training launched on National Career Service portal

The Ministry of Labour and Employment in collaboration with TCS ION has initiated the free online “Career Skills Training” programme for its registered job-seekers under its National Career Service (NCS) project. The “Career Skills Training” programme focuses on soft skills and helps the learners in improving their personality.

MEITY has launched National AI Portal of India

The National AI Portal of India was launched by the Union Minister for Electronics and IT, Law and Justice and Communications Ravi Shankar Prasad. The website has been designed to work as a one-stop digital platform for developments related to Artificial Intelligence and will see resource sharing and articles like companies and educational institutions related to AI in India, startups, investment funds in AI on its website.

COVID-19 India National Supermodel started by DST

A COVID -19 Indian National Supermodel has been started by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) in order to provide assistance in monitoring future infection transmission. The Supermodel is expected to help in decisions which involve readiness of the health system and other measures to combat the pandemic.

Herbal medicine loaded smart bandage developed by IASST scientists

A pH-responsive smart bandage has been developed by scientists working at the Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), an autonomous institute of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The herbal bandage has the capability to deliver the medicine applied in the wound at the pH that is best-suited for the wound.
