First Advance Estimates of production of major Kharif crops for 2021-22 issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

First Advance Estimates:

• According to the First Advance Estimates, the estimated production of major Kharif crops for 2021-22 is below:
  • Foodgrains - 150.50 million tons. (record)
  • Rice - 107.04 million tons. (Record)
  • Nutri / Coarse grains - 34.00 million tons.
  • Maize - 21.24 million tons.
  • Pulses - 9.45 million tons.
  • Tur - 4.43 million tons.
  • Oilseeds - 23.39 million tons.
  • Groundnut - 8.25million tons.
  • Soyabean - 12.72 million tons.
  • Cotton - 36.22 million bales (170 kg each) (record)
  • Jute & Mesta - 9.61 million bales (180 kg each)
  • Sugarcane - 419.25 million tons (a record)
• According to First Advance Estimates of 2021-22 (Kharif Only), the total grain production in the country is estimated at 150.50 million tons by 12.71 million tons more than the grain production produced in the last 5 years (2015-16 to 2019).
• The total production of Kharif rice during 2021-22 is estimated at 107.04 million tonnes. It is higher by 9.21 million tonnes than the previous 5 years (2015-16 to 2019-20) average Kharif rice production of 97.83 million tonnes.
