Gotbaya Rajapaksa to be sworn in as new President of Sri Lanka

Gotabaya Rajapaksa won the Sri Lankan presidential election. Gotabaya Rajapaksa fought against ruling party candidate Sajith Premadasa. Sri Lanka's Election Commission released the final result. As per the result, Rajapaksa secured victory with 52.25% of the vote. Rajapaksa is to take oath as President of Sri Lanka on 18 November in a ceremony in the central town of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka.
