GOVERNMENT OF KARNATAKA HAS RELEASED THE ‘ENGINEERING RESEARCH POLICY’

Context

The state government of Karnataka has released the ‘Engineering Research Policy’, which aims to further develop Research and Development in future skills of Engineering.

Details

  • The policy promotes the adaptation of the courses in State Colleges.
  • The policy will create approximately 50,000 new jobs and help in the contribution of up to 45% of Engineering R&D.
  • The priority sectors under the policy are:
    • Software products;
    • Aerospace and Defence;
    • Auto, auto components and EV;
    • Biotechnology, pharma and medical devices;
    • Semiconductors, EDSM and telecom.
