IBPS PO 14 October Exam Analysis 2017 (Shift 1): The Institue of Banking & Personnel Selection has initiated the third-day journey IBPS PO prelims exam.The shift I of the day has ended and the students are now coming out of the test centers.

This analysis may help all the candidates who are yet to appear for IBPS PO Prelims Exam as it will get them acquainted with the difficulty level of the examination.Here we begin our IBPS PO 14th October Prelims Exam, where will discuss the difficulty level of the paper as well as the number of good attempts essential for qualifying for mains exam.  

IBPS PO 14 October Exam Analysis: What was the difficulty level?

Before we begin our detailed exam review of IBPS PO Prelims, we would like to list out the exam pattern for the first time readers. The IBPS PO Prelims Exam had 3 sections i.e. English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. There were a total of 100 questions carrying 1 mark each.

  The total duration for all the three papers was 1 hour. Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS.

Now, back to IBPS PO Exam Analysis for the paper conducted on 14 October 2017. Similar to 7th & 8th October paper, the overall difficulty level of IBPS PO Preliminary Examination was Moderate. Owing to the level of competition, it was evident that a rather challenging paper is the best way to shortlist the most deserving ones.

IBPS PO 14 October Exam Analysis: Reasoning Ability

  • Level of Difficulty: Moderate
  • Good Attempts: 22-23
  • Optimal Time: 20 Minutes

Let us begin our review of IBPS PO Prelims Paper with Reasoning Ability. The table below tells about the number of questions from each topic asked in prelims 2017:

  There were no questions from Syllogism in today's first shift. Compared to last week, candidates found today's reasoning section to be more attemptable. The difficulty level was more or less similar.

IBPS PO 14 October Exam Analysis: Quantitative Aptitude

  • Level of Difficulty: Moderate (Calculative)
  • Good Attempts: 17-18
  • Optimal Time: 25 Minutes

Tthe quant section had a proper mix of moderate to challenging questions. The level of difficulty of Quant Section in IBPS PO Prelims (Slot 1) was slightly Moderate.

  Questions based on Profit and Loss, Simple Interest, Ages, Partnership, Time and Work & DI were a bit challenging.

IBPS PO 14 October Exam Analysis: English Language 

  • Level of Difficulty: Difficult
  • Good Attempts: 13-14
  • Optimal Time: 15 Minutes

This year, IBPS PO Prelims 2017 posed a major threat to aspirants who relied heavily upon scoring well in English Section. First, most scoring topics like Cloze Test were nowhere to be found and Sentence Rearrangement/ Improvement & spotting error questions were challenging to solve.
