INDIA-AFRICA DEFENCE DIALOGUE WILL BE HELD ALONGSIDE EVERY DefExpo

Context:

India-Africa Defence Dialogue will be held alongside every DefExpo.

Key Highlights:

• A dialogue to help build existing relations between African countries and India.
• Exploring new meeting places for engagement.
• Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defense Study and Analyzes to become a knowledge partner.
• Raksha Mantri will welcome African Defense Ministers at the next India-Africa Defense Dialogue next to DefExpo 2022.

India-Africa Defence Relations:

• The basis of the Indian-African defence relations is based on two guiding principles namely 'SAGAR', Security and Growth for All in the Region 'and' Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam ', The World Is One Family.
• The first Conclave (India Africa Defense Ministers Conclave) held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh met with DefExpo on February 06, 2020, organized jointly by the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Next India-Africa Defence Meet:

• It has been decided that Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh will host the Defence Ministers of African Nations in the next India – Africa Defence Dialogue on the sidelines of the DefExpo that is scheduled to be held at Gandhinagar, Gujarat in March 2022. The broad theme of this India Africa Defence Dialogue will be ‘India – Africa: Adopting Strategy for Synergizing and Strengthening Defence and Security Cooperation’.
