Context:

The Global energy and industrial majors have joined together to form the India H2 Alliance.

Key Points:

• The plan to frame the collusion was started by the Reliance businesses and Chart Industries.
• The India H2 Alliance, IH2A essentially centers around commercializing hydrogen advancements.
• It will run after boosting the hydrogen economy and supply chain in India.

About India H2 Alliance:

• It will predominantly focus on industrial clusters like  refineries, ports and logistics, steel, cement, fertiliser, and heavy-duty transport use cases.

Objectives of IH2A:

• To fabricate a hydrogen economy and supply chain in India.
• To help create blue and green hydrogen production and storage.
• To fabricate hydrogen-use industrial clusters.
• To expand hydrogen-powered fuel cells-based transport.

India H2 Alliance and Government of India:

The India H2 Alliance will work with the GOI accompanying five areas:

• To create National Hydrogen Policy and roadmap 2021-30.
• To make the National H2 Task Force and Mission in a PPP model.
• To recognize National Large H2 Demonstration Stage Projects.
• To make a National India H2 Fund.
• To make a good hydrogen linked capacity including production, distribution, storage, industrial use-cases, standards and transport use-cases.
