INDIA-ISRAEL 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS

Context:

On January 24, 2022, India and Israel unveiled a commemorative logo to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations. 

About the Logo:

  • The logo features the Ashoka Chakra and the Star of David. These two symbols adorn the national flags of both countries - and form a 30-mark symbol for 30 years of bilateral relations. 
  • This unique symbol symbolises the strong friendship, love, and commendation among the people of the two nations. 
  • It also shows the growth of strategic relations between the two sides.

About the Logo Design:

  • Last year, both nations sponsored a logo design competition for students from top design institutes in Israel and India to produce a 30th-anniversary logo.
  • Entries were invited from the National Institute of Design, India, and the Holon Institute of Technology, Israel. Many Israeli and Indian students participated in the competition.
  • The winning design created by an Indian student, Nikhil Kumar Rai, was chosen by the Ambassadors and Ambassadors from both countries. 
  • It has been designated as the official symbol of the 30th anniversary of the Israeli-India diplomatic relations.

India and Israel Relations:

  • Israel and India established a working relationship on January 29, 1992. Since then, bilateral relations between the two countries have developed into a strategic partnership.
  • India formally recognised Israel in 1950. International relations, on the other hand, were first created in 1992.
  • India is one of 164 nations with connections with Israel as of 2020.
