About Jeevan Raksha Padak:

• The Jeevan Raksha Padak series of prizes are given to people who have performed a great deed of human nature by saving human life.
• There are three categories for the award: Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak, and Jeevan Raksha Padak.
• Jeevan Raksha Padak is open to people from all walks of life and may also be posthumous.
• The decoration of the award - medal, a certificate signed by the Minister of Home Affairs, and the grant amount are presented in due course by the Union Services/Organizations/Government to which the award belongs.
