Madhya Pradesh, the top state in implementing PM Svanidhi scheme

The state of Madhya Pradesh has become the top state in executing the Pradhan Mantri Street Vendors Atma Nirbhar Nidhi-PM SVANidhi scheme. The PM SVANidhi Yojana has been launched by the government to assist the beneficiaries in 378 urban bodies of the state.

Key Points:

  • The state is implementing the scheme to provide financial aid to the street vendors, which will help the vendors to continue their businesses.
  • The state is also implementing a scheme, under which interest-free assistance of Rs. 10,000 will be provided to the street vendors of rural areas in Madhya Pradesh.
  • The government has also approved 15,500 cases in the state, and around 15 crores 50 lakh rupees have been approved for making provisions for an interest-free loan.
  • Till now registration of 8,70,330 street vendors have been completed and of these, 1,76,000 street vendors have been issued vending certificates and identity cards.
  • The government will also provide Rs.10,000 as interest-free working capital for 1 year. The central government will pay the subsidy of 7 percent on the interest amount while the state government will pay the rest of the amount.
  • The government will also provide a special subsidy of Rs.1200 in one year for carrying out digital transactions.
