Major Step For Indigenous Development Of 5g Open Ran Under Atmanirbhar Bharat Initiative:

Context: Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), VVDN Technologies Private Limited and WiSig Networks Private Limited have signed an agreement for collaboration in Open RAN based Radio Network for 5G solution on 2nd February 2022. 

Key Points: 

• This collaboration will leverage complementary strengths and the technical competencies of Indian R&D. This will also lead to indigenous design, development, manufacturing and deployment of cost-effective 5G products and solutions. 
• This engagement will help in the augmentation of the indigenous intellectual property. This will further create new avenues for wider adoption and monetization of home-grown 5G products & solutions.
