MeghEA INITIATIVE BY MINISTRY OF ELECTRONICS & IT

Context:

Meghalaya Enterprise Architecture Project (MeghEA) was launched under the Ministry of Electronics & IT by IT Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw and CM Meghalaya Shri Conrad Sangma.

MeghEA initiative :

  • It is spread across 6 pillars i.e. Governance, Entrepreneurship, Primary Sector, Human Resources, Infrastructure and Environment, and envision to make Meghalaya a high-income state by 2030.

Aim of the Initiative:

  • The project aims to improve service delivery and governance for the people using the power of digital technologies.

MeghEA was adopted to support the following digital government goals:

  • A well-organized state government transformation initiative that requires good coordination between strategies, policies, procedures, services and organizational capacity to achieve change.
  • Integrate all ICT systems under one umbrella to get a complete view, maximize the efficiency of IT planning and improve costs and investment for better profitability.
  • Implement and ICT enable state government process reengineering to provide more multi-channel service delivery in a way that will increase digital take-up and completion rates
  • Ensure that government applications and programs provide end-users with the information they need to make decisions and influence government operations.
  • Create an ecosystem of a digital economy to increase shared prosperity, by leveraging ICT for employment and growth.
