Ministry of Tourism launches Dekho Apna Desh Logo Design Contest

The ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ Contest was launched by the Ministry of Tourism on the MyGov platform on 6 May 2020. The logo for ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ based on creative inputs from the citizens of the country will help the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, to develop a Distinct Brand identity for the campaign.

Key Points:

  • The initiative is in line with the Prime Minister’s appeal to every citizen to visit at least 15 destinations by the year 2022.
  • This will help in promoting domestic tourism and increase tourist footfall and will assist in developing the local economy.
  • Post the COVID19 pandemic, domestic tourism will see a fast recovery compared to international tourism.
  • The Ministry of Tourism had started webinars on ‘DekhoApnaDesh’ to continue its engagement with the industry and its audiences during the lockdown period.
  • The aim of the webinar series is to promote and increase awareness with regards to different tourism destinations across the country, India, which include the lesser-known destinations and unknown aspects of popular destinations.
  • The individual who wins the DekhoApnaDesh Logo contest will receive six days, five nights all paid expenses holiday package for two people to any destination across India from their place of stay in India.
