MINISTRY OF TRIBAL AFFAIRS SETTING UP TRIBAL FREEDOM FIGHTERS’ MUSEUMS

Context

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs is to set up “Tribal Freedom Fighters’ Museums”.

Details

  • It is dedicated to the Tribal people in India because of their contributions in the freedom movement.
  • It was announced by the Prime Minister of India from Red Fort, during Independence Day celebration in 2016.
  • The Prime Minister announced that the Government would work to make such museums in different States so that the coming generations may know how our tribals were far ahead in making sacrifices.”
  • It will trace the events in which the tribal people in hills and forests fought for their right to live and will.
  • It will demonstrate the way tribal struggles to protect their custodial concerns for the biological and cultural diversity of the country that have helped in nation-building.
