PADMA AWARDS 2022

Key Points:

• The President presents the awards at events held at his official residence, Rashtrapati Bhawan, in March or April.
• The Padma Awards 2022 will also be awarded to vaccine makers to semiconductor market rulers and presented to many recipients.

About the Padma Awards 2022:

• In 2022, President Ram Nath Kovind approved 17 Padma Bhushan awards, 4 Padma Vibhushan awards, and 107 Padma Shri awards. 
• In all 128 Padma Awards, one award Padma is the duo's case where the award is considered one. 
• This year 34 Padma Awardees are women. 
• Also, there are ten NRI or OCI on the list, and 13 are posthumous awardees.

Padma Vibhushan:

• After posthumously, the late CDS, Bipin Rawat and Kalyan Singh, will be given with Padma Vibhushan.

Padma Bhushan:

• Congress leader Gulam Nabi Azad, ammunition CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will receive the Padma Bhushan award. 
• Gurmeet Bawa, the late Punjab traditional singer, and Rajiv Mehrishi, the Union Secretary for home affairs, will be given Padma Bhushan.

Padma Shri:

• Sonu Nigam, a Bollywood singer, will receive Padma Shri.
