REC Limited collaborates with TajSATS to help healthcare workers

The REC Limited (earlier known as Rural Electrification Corporation), is a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU)(a Navratna Company) under the Ministry of Power has collaborated with TajSATS to provide nutritious meals to the medical staff in important government hospitals and the poor daily wage labourers throughout the nation.

Key Points:

  • The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of REC Limited, the REC Foundation, has joined hands with TajSATS (a joint venture of Indian Hotel Companies Limited (IHCL) and SATS Ltd) to provide nutritious meal packets specially-made for medical staff in Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi.
  • Under the initiative, more than 18,000 meals will be delivered in New Delhi. Currently, 300 food packets are being delivered every day as a symbol of gratitude to the frontline healthcare workers of New Delhi.
  • REC Limited is also providing cooked meals and ration to the needy throughout the country in collaboration with various NGOs, district authorities, and electricity distribution companies (DISCOMS).

  • REC Limited is a Non Banking Finance Company (NBFC) which focuses on Power Sector Financing and Development across India and is one of India’s largest power financiers. It was set up in 1969, and is also nodal agency for the flagship  power sector schemes of Govt. of India like Saubhagya, Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), etc.
