REVISED RURAL AREA DEVELOPMENT PLAN FORMULATION AND IMPLEMENTATION (RADFPI)

Context:

On 20 January 2022, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj released a revised Rural Area Development Plan Formulation and Implementation (RADPFI).

Significance:

• The guidelines are prepared to keep in mind the vision of transforming rural India, ensuring the empowerment of rural India, and promoting the prosperity of rural areas.

Key Points:

• The revised RADPFI guidelines will serve as the basis for rural transformation and effective land-use planning in rural areas.
• The release of RADPFI guidelines will complement Central Government efforts such as the SVAMITVA Scheme of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and the RURBAN Mission of the Ministry of Rural Development and facilitate better use of Geospatial information.

About the Guidelines:

• The issuance of these Guidelines will certainly provide direction to the planned development plan in various areas such as:
• Environmental and social infrastructure,
• Economic activities,
• Road and transport connectivity,
• Land values ​​and expected economic activities
• Will assist in finding a viable agricultural transformation solution for non-agricultural purposes for planned development.

It is expected that these revised guidelines will guide to:

• the State Town and Country Planning Departments, the Provincial Departments of Rural Development, and Panchayati Raj
• A slew of additional offices at the district/block level is in charge of planned infrastructure development in the villages, both physical and social.
