ROOF TOP SCHEME

Key Highlights of the Review:

• Following the review, the Minister issued instructions to simplify the Roof Top Scheme, so that people can easily access it.
• He ordered that from now on, it will not be mandatory for any household to get the rooftop installed by any of the listed vendors.
• Notice to DISCOM of the installation of the roof may be given in the material form through a letter/application or on a designated website established by all DISCOMs and the Government of India for the Roof Top Scheme. 

Network Installation:

• The distribution company will ensure that the network installation will be provided within 15 days of the information being received.

Government Subsidies:

• Government subsidies of India which is 40% for the rooftop of up to 3 KW capacity and 20% beyond that up to 10 KW will be credited to the account of the householder by DISCOM within 30 days of installation.

List of Solar Panel and Inverter Manufacturers:

• To ensure that the quality of the solar panel and inverter complies with the prescribed standard; the Government of India will periodically publish a list of solar panel manufacturers and inverter manufacturers whose products meet the expected quality standards and price list so that the householder can choose the solar panel and inverter of his choice.
