Sewa Service trains 

The Indian Railway launched a total of 10 ’ Sewa Service  Trains’ today, Minister of Railway Piyush Goyal along with health minister Harsh Vardhan and oil minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated Delhi-Shamli daily passenger train.

Key Points:

  • The Sewa Service trains are introduced to ensure congestion-free roads and faster ease of movement. These trains will also help divert short distance traffic from roads to the railways.
  • From 15th October Sewa Service trains will function as a daily passenger, between Delhi and Shamli, Bhubaneswar and Nayagarh town, Murkongselex and Dibrugarh, Kota and Jhalawar City and Coimbatore and Palani.
  • Certain trains will operate six days a week which includes Trains between Vadnagar and Mahesana, Asarva and Himmatnagar, Karur and Salem, Yeshvantpur and Tumkur and Coimbatore and Pollachi.

The Indian Railways also launched a website and mobile app that allows passengers to register their complaints online. This will facilitate the railway police in addressing complaints of passengers across India and crime detection by integrating the criminal database online.
