Social media super app Elyments launched by Vice President of India

The Vice President of India launched the Elyments app, that is the first official social media super App of India and has been developed by the collaboration of more than a thousand Information Technology Professionals who are also volunteers for the Art of Living foundation led by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Key Points:

• The App has been developed in eight languages and is available for download on the Google Play Store. The App already has more than 100,000 downloads.
• The App has given importance to privacy, and all the servers that contain data of Indian individuals are hosted in India.
• The App will compete with other social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and Whatsapp.
• The development comes amidst a ban on 59 Chinese apps that included social media platforms like TikTok, which had the highest Indian UserBase.
• The Prime Minister of India had also earlier called for a Self-Reliant India, through the “Aamanirbhar Bharat” initiative and had called upon innovators and entrepreneurs to build products in India under the “Make In India” project.
• The development of these innovative apps and platforms will help in boosting the economic potential of India by providing strong infrastructure by employing modern technologies, enhanced human resources and strengthening the supply chains.
