SWACHH SURVEKSHAN GRAMEEN, 2021

Context:

On 9 September 2021, The Swachh Survekshan Grameen, 2021 will be launched under the Swachh Bharat Mission Phase 2 As part of the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', the Swachh Survekshan Grameen aims to support ODF plus interventions and results in the country.

About the Survekhshan:

• A professional agency has been appointed to conduct Survekshan 2021. As part of Survekshan, Villages, Provinces and States will be listed using key parameters.
• As part of the Swachh Survekshan Grameen, 17 475 villages will be considered in 698 districts across the country.
• 87,250 public places namely schools, anganwadis, community health centres, haat / bazaars / religious sites in these districts will be visited for a survey.
• Approximately 1,74,750 Families will be asked questions about their responses to SBM related issues.
• Also, citizens will be mobilized to provide feedback on issues related to online sanitation using a purpose-built app.
• The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) submitted the Swachh SurvekshanGramin (SSG) - early 2018 and 2019.

The weights to different elements of the SSG 2021 are as below:

• Direct Observation of sanitation at public places -30%
• Citizen’s Feedback, including feedback from common citizens, key influencers at the village level and from citizens online using a mobile App -35%
• Service Level Progress on sanitation-related parameters -35%
