The 32nd PRAGATI meet

On 22nd January 2020 PM Shri Narendra Modi chaired the first PRAGATI meeting of the year. It marked the Prime Minister’s 32nd interaction through PRAGATI, an ICT based multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation, involving Central and State governments.

Key Points:

  • In this meeting, PM discussed a total of 11 items, out of which 9 are delayed projects. 
  • These 9 projects are worth over Rs. 24,000 crores which is spread over nine states viz. Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Bihar, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh and 3 Union ministries. 
  • These include 3 from the Ministry of Railways, 5 from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and 1 from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Key Findings:

  • PM reviewed the performance with regard to grievances related to insurance schemes under Department of Financial Services viz. ‘Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana’ (PMJJBY) and ‘Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana’(PMSBY).
  • Also the progress under Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) project which is a comprehensive and a integrated system for effective policing through e-Governance was reviewed.

About PRAGATI:

PM Modi launched PRAGATI in March 2015. It is an interactive platform to address grievances of common people. The issues faced by the implementing agencies are uploaded on the platform on 3rd Wednesday every month.
