Three handbooks prepared by CBSE on Cybersecurity released for students

Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal’ Nishank’, the Minister of Human Resource Development, released a set of three handbooks via video conferencing on 20 May 2020. The three manuals have been prepared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on the steps taken by the Board to accept value-based standards of education across the globe.

Key Points:

  • The Handbook’ Cyber safety-A Handbook for Students of Secondary & Senior Secondary Schools’’ has been prepared to raise awareness concerning cybersecurity among the students from class IX to XII.
  • The books will provide comprehensive guidance to teenagers who might face different types of security risks as they are tech-savvy and use digital platforms and internet services frequently.
  • The handbook ‘In Pursuit of Excellence- A Handbook for Principals’, will increase the awareness of principals of schools regarding the systems of the Board and will provide other information which might be useful.
  • The book ‘In Pursuit of Excellence- A Handbook for Principals’ will make sure that better coordination happens between the schools and the administration of CBSE.
  • The third book, ‘21st Century Skills: A Handbook’ by CBSE will increase awareness regarding 21st-century skills and encourage people to use the skill in their daily life.
  • The objective of the books is to improve efficiency, gain skills and leadership experience, and develop a better understanding of cybersecurity.
