UNION HOME MINISTER INAUGURATED VARIOUS DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS FROM NETAJI SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE ISLAND

Context:

Home Affairs and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah unveiled and laid the foundation stones for various development projects from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Island in Andaman Island and Nicobar.

Key Highlights:

• Shri Amit Shah also conducted aerial research for the Rani Laxmibai Dweep, the Shaheed Dweep Eco-Tourism Project, the SarajDweep Water Aerodrome and other development projects.
• Several dignitaries including Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Admiral (Retd) DK Joshi and the Union Home Secretary were also present at the event.

Projects Launched:

• The Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation said the 14 projects cost Rs 299 crore and the foundation stones of 12 projects worth Rs 643 crore were launched in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
• The Modi government is embarking on a project to develop about 1,000 crores in a small part of the Andaman Islands.
• According to Shri Amit Shah, the Modi government had decided to name the bridge established as the Azad Hind Fauj Bridge. Everyone who passes the bridge will move from one side to the other in honour of Netaji's 35,000-kilometer journey, courage and heroism.
• According to Shri Shah, the work done on water supply, sanitation and health, these three important issues related to health.
• According to Shri Amit Shah, a new centre for cardiovascular patients had been set up, where angioplasty and pacemakers could be performed.
• In line with this, AYUSH Hospital has been established here and 49 Wellness Centers have been established.
