VIDYANJALI PORTAL LAUNCHED

Context:

On September 7, 2021, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, launched the Vidyanjali Portal and other programs in the education sector.

About Vidyanjali Portal:

• It is launched to help the community or volunteers participate by contacting the government and directly assisting government schools.
• It was launched to assist educational volunteers, donors or CSR contributors for school development.

Education Ministry on Ways of Contribution:

• According to the education ministry, any person who is a citizen of India/NRI/PIO OR any organisation/institution/company/group registered in India can volunteer and contribute in two ways:
• Services/activities
• Assets/material/equipment such as basic civil infrastructure, basic electrical infrastructure, classroom support materials and equipment, digital infrastructure, equipment for extracurricular activities and sports, yoga, health, etc

Other Initiatives Launched:

• These plans were introduced while ensuring that they will play an important role in building the future of India.
• Campaigns were launched during the opening of the 'Shikshak Parv' conference.

Shikshak Parv-2021:

• It was launched by the Ministry of Education (MoE).
• Its celebration started on September 5 and will conclude on September 17, 2021.
• It is being organised to recognise the valuable contributions of teachers and to take the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 ahead.
