Webinar for sensitization of MPs on GOAL project held by Facebook and Ministry of Tribal Affairs

A webinar for the sensitisation of Members of Parliament from Scheduled Tribe (ST) Constituencies on Going Online As Leaders (GOAL) Project was hosted by Facebook and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

Key Points:

  • The Going Online As Leaders (GOAL) is an online initiative that aims to engage well-known experts and leaders in domains ranging from arts and entrepreneurship to business, education, politics, and health among others for the mentorship and skilling of scheduled tribe youths throughout the country using digital methods.
  • The programme will facilitate and empower the young tribal generation to become change-makers of tomorrow.
  • The objective of the initiative is the capacity building of young individuals living in tribal areas to boost their confidence level and generate higher aspirations among them through guidance, inspiration and encouragement.
  • Under the programme, the focus will be on leadership, digital literacy, entrepreneurship and life skills. The programme will enable the tribals youth to utilise their smartphones to achieve the goals of life.
  • The webinar was attended by Facebook India, Minister for Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda; Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Renuka Singh Saruta; and several other MPs and senior officers from MyGov and Tribal Affairs Ministry.
