APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR NDA & NA (II) EXAMINATION 2016

Candidates will be required to complete the "Online Application Form" containing two stages viz. Part-I and Part-II as per the instructions available in the above-mentioned site through drop down menus.

Before starting filling up of online application, a candidate must have his/her photograph and signature duly scanned in the '.png' or '.jpg' the format in such a manner that each file size should not exceed 40KB each.

Eligibility Criteria

Education Qualification

For Army Wing of National Defence Academy — The candidate appearing for the exam must have passed or appearing XII Class pass from a recognised board or a University.

For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy — The candidate appearing for the exam must have passed or appearing XII Class with Mathematics and Physics from a recognised board or a University.

Age Limit

The candidates not born before 2nd January 1998 and not later than 1st January 2001 are eligible.

Selection Process

The applicants who fulfill the eligibility criteria for NDA (II) have to appear for written examination first, followed by the SSB Interview. You need to perform well in written examination in order to advance to the interview round. The examination is conducted by UPSC, which is followed by extensive rounds of interviews covering general aptitude, psychological tests, and team skills as well as physical and social skills. The final merit list is prepared after document verification and medical process approval.

The UPSC NDA (II) Exam consists of two papers – Mathematics and General Ability Test. Both test papers are of objective pattern with single correct option. For every incorrect answer, one-third mark is deducted as a penalty according to the paper.

Exam Syllabus

Section of NDA & NA(II) examination of paper 1:

Mathematics: This section includes both verbal and non-verbal type questions. The sub-sections may be Algebra, Matrices and Determinants, Trigonometry, Analytical Geometry of two and three dimensions, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus and Differential Equations, Vector Algebra, Statistics and Probability, etc.

The primary sections for the NDA & NA(II) examination of paper 2 are as follows:

English Language: Vocabulary, Comprehension and Cohesion, Grammar and Application, etc
General Ability: Physics, Chemistry, General Science, History and the Movement of Freedom, Geography,Current Affairs, etc.
