Railway Recruitment Board released an important notice regarding the call letters of Group D aspirants. All candidates having CBT for Level 1 posts on 18/09/2018, 19/09/2018 and 20/09/2018, who could not download e-call letter, have been sent SMS with centre details and an email with the link to download & print their e-call letter. Candidates are advised to click on the link, print e call letter and to proceed to the exam centre with original photo ID, Passport size photo and attend the exam.

Recently, the Railway Recruitment Board has released an important notice regarding the call letters for the upcoming Group D examination. Admit cards will be available 4 days prior to candidate's exam date. The Call letter download for the 1st stage CBT on 17th September 2018 has been enabled. RRB Group D Important Notice: Know Your Exam Date and City

Railway Recruitment Board has released the city and date for all the Group D Aspirants. Visit the link given below and fill the required details to know your city. Candidates to note that the intimation will be live from 14.00 hrs of 9th September 2018 for candidates scheduled from 17th September to 16th October 2018. For all the remaining candidates it will be live from 13.09.2018 onward.

रेलवे ने रविवार (09-09-2018) दोपहर 14:00 बजे लिंक जारी किया जिससे करीब-करीब सभी के जोन के उम्मीदवारों को पता चल जाएगा कि उनका परीक्षा केंद्र किस शहर में है और किस डेट में उनका सीबीटी होगा।

RRB Group D Application Status: Modify Invalid Photograph (Date Extended till 30th July 2018)

Representations received from the candidates of CEN- 02/2018 regarding invalid photographs have been examined and the revised status of photos are being emailed to individual candidates. They are advised to check the revised status of their applications. As of now, RRB has extended the date to modify the invalid photo. RRB Group D Notification Regarding Exam dates: Check Official Notice

Recently RRB Released a notice regarding the examination schedule for the first stage CBT of CEN 01/2018(for ALP & Technicians) and CBT of CEN 02/2018(for Level 1 Posts) have been tentatively indicated in both the CENs as APRIL/MAY 2018. In continuation of that notice, it is now advised that application scrutiny is in final stages and is likely to be completed by the first week of July 2018. Thereafter the status of the candidates will be uploaded on the website of all the RRBs. Computer-Based Written Tests for Assistant Loco Pilot /Technicians and Level-I posts are likely to commence in August/September 2018. Exact dates will be advised through RRBs’ websites in due course. Candidates are advised to refer only to the official websites of RRBs for periodical updates regarding these recruitments and not to get mislead by unauthenticated news items/posts circulating in media/social media.

Railway Exam Postponed: check official Notice

The examination schedule for the first stage CBT of CEN 01/2018(for ALP & Technicians) and CBT of CEN 02/2018(for Level 1 Posts) have been tentatively indicated in both the CENs as APRIL/MAY 2018. However, due to an unprecedented response of about 2.37 crore applications for both the notifications, the scrutiny of applications and preparations for the conduct of CBT are still in progress. Hence, the examination (CBT) schedule for both the CENs shall be published on the websites shortly.

RRB Group D Exam Dates Announced

RRB has invited applications for filling up 62,907 vacancies in the railways under Group D for the posts of Helper, Porter, Track Maintainer, Sweeper cum Porter, Assistant Pointsman, Hospital Attendant etc. As of now, the exam dates have been announced. According to headlines in the Hindustan newspaper, Railway Recruitment Board will be conducting Group D exam from 12th August to 16th September 2018. Selection Process

Only single online application has to be submitted by the candidate to the RRB of their choice for all the notified posts of that RRB through the official website. The entire recruitment process shall involve a Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Document Verification.

The date, time and venue for all the activities, namely, CBT, PET and DV or any other additional activity as applicable shall be fixed by the RRBs and shall be intimated to the eligible candidates in due course. Request for postponement of any of the above activity or for change of venue, date and shift will not be entertained under any circumstances.

The detail Group D recruitment examination selection procedure is as follows-


1.Computer Based Test
All the eligible candidates have to undergo a Computer Based Test on the specified date, time and venue as per the e-call letter to be downloaded by the candidates from the websites of RRBs. The information about the e-call letter download shall be communicated through the websites as well as personal email communication to the candidates.
Total Duration : 90 Min,
No of Questions: 100 Computer Based Test


PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TESTS (PET)
Based on the merit of the candidates in the CBT, candidates shall be called for PET Two times the community wise total vacancy of the Posts notified against RRBs. However, Railways reserve the right to increase/decrease this limit as required to ensure availability of adequate candidates for all the notified posts. Passing Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is mandatory and the same will be qualifying in nature. The criterion for PET is as under:PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TESTS (PET) Based on the merit of the candidates in the CBT, candidates shall be called for PET Two times the community wise total vacancy of the Posts notified against RRBs. However, Railways reserve the right to increase/decrease this limit as required to ensure availability of adequate candidates for all the notified posts. Passing Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is mandatory and the same will be qualifying in nature. The criterion for PET is as under:

Male Candidates Female Candidates
  • Should be able to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down. and
  • Running: 1000 metres in 4 Minutes & 15 Seconds in one chance.
  • Should be able to lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down. and
  • Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.

Note: The persons with disabilities as specified in notification are exempted from appearing for PET. However, after qualifying in the CBT, such candidates will have to pass the medical examination prescribed for Persons with Disabilities.


Document Verification and Empanelling of Candidates
Based on the performance of candidates in the CBT subject to their qualifying in PET, candidates will be called for document verification.
In case of two or more candidates securing same marks, their merit position shall be determined by age criteria i.e., older person shall be given higher seniority.
Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates.
Candidates may please note that RRBs only recommend names of the empanelled candidates and appointment is offered ONLY by the respective Railway Administrations.

Syllabus

The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices and are likely to include questions pertaining to below mention four subjects- Mathematics, Reasoning, GA, and GS. Detailed syllabus is as follows-

a. Mathematics
Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.

b. General Intelligence and reasoning
Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning,  Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.

c. General Science
The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10 standard level.

d. General Awareness on current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subjects of importance.

  • I have not received email/sms during registration procedure? Why? 

    A. Check the correctness of mobile number and email id entered by you. Check your spam mails. You may also refresh and check your email after intervals. If it is noticed that the email id / mobile number has been wrongly entered inadvertently, click on change email id/mobile number option.

    A. Your password is your registered date of birth in the format DDMMYYYY.

  • What all documents should I upload at the time of application? 

    A. Scanned passport size photo(15kb-40kb) of the candidate with name and date printed on it. Scanned SC/ST certificate(50kb to 100kb). (if applicable) Scanned passport size photo of the scribe(15kb-40kb). (if applicable)

  • When I try to upload the Photo/SC /ST certificate, it doesn't accept Why? 

    A. The documents should be in JPG/JPEG format for successful uploading and the size should be: a. Passport size photos - 15 to 40 kb b. SC/ST certificate - 50kb to 100 kb.

  • How do I know that I belong to OBC creamy layer or Non-creamy layer? 

    A. The family income of the OBC-Non Creamy Layer candidate should not be more than 8 Lakhs. The OBC certificate should be in the format prescribed as at Notification Annexure-II wherein clear mention is made regarding the candidate not belonging to persons/sections of creamy layer. These are considered to be Non-Creamy Layer candidates.

  • What is the Examination Fees? 

    A. For candidates belonging to SC / ST / Ex- Servicemen / PWDs / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class: Rs 250/-. This amount duly deducting bank charges shall be refunded to those who appear in first stage CBT All other candidates: Rs 500/- Out of this Rs 400/- duly deducting bank charges shall be refunded to those who appear in first stage CBT.

  • Whether examination fee is re-fundable? 

    A. The fee of Rs 250/- is refundable duly deducting bank charges to SC / ST / Ex- Servicemen / PWDs / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class candidates on attending First Stage Computer Based Test. For others who have paid Rs 500/-, Rs 400/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges to those who appear in first stage CBT.

  • Can I take the print out of the application any time? 

    A. Yes. You can login by using registration ID and password and click on preview to view/take print of your application.

  • What should I do if I have lost my SSLC/SSC/Matriculation Certificate? 

    A. You cannot register without furnishing SSLC/Matric roll number and year Of passing as available in the certificate. If these details are furnished based on the copy of the certificate and in case the candidate is called for DV, the original/Duplicate SSLC/SSC/Matriculation certificate has to be submitted.

  • Can I edit the details in the application? 

    A. The details in the application (except mobile number, email id and State) can be edited with the modification option by paying modification fee of Rs.100/- each time which is non-refundable. The Modification can be done only twice. Pay the modification fees and modify your Application / Photo, The modification can be done only twice.

  • How will I come to know whether my application is accepted / rejected? 

    A. In case the application is rejected after scrutiny, the same will be communicated through email.

  • Query about Exam trade selection? 

    A. Select any one Exam trade from the given drop down box.

  • Query about Selecting RRB Zone / Division / Unit? 

    A. The application is common for all the RRBs. The option of RRB and the preference for posts within the opted RRB shall be taken after first stage CBT.

  • Query about EBC candidate is being asked to pay Examination fee of Rs 500/- 

    A. After selecting EBC option you have to select Yes for "fee concession and refund facility" then only your payment will be considered as 250/-.

  • Query about Ex-Servicemen employees Attestation Date? 

    A. The date which is mentioned in the attestation certificate or ask the authorized person in your department to issue that date.

  • Query about After Modification the candidate is being asked to pay exam fees of Rs 500/-? 

    A. You have changed your category from Fee exempted refundable category of Rs 250/- and hence you have to pay examination fee of Rs 500 again. However on appearing in 1st stage CBT, Rs 400 shall be refunded.

  • What to select in option of SSLC/SSC/Matriculation?

    Please refer your 10th certificate and select any one of the option.

  • Query About modification fees from Rs. 250 to Rs.100?

    A. All those who have made modifications to the application earlier with the payment of Rs 250 shall get the refund of the excess amount of Rs 150 to the beneficiary account furnished in the application.

  • Query About Refund details for Rs 500 candidates? 

    A. Candidates who have paid the examination fee of Rs 500 are advised to click on the online application link of CEN 01/2018 available on the official websites of RRBs and login with their credentials to add beneficiary account details for refund Rs 400/- on appearing in the first stage of CBT
