RBI Assistant Final Result 2017 declared
Reserve Bank of India has declared RBI Assistant Final Result 2017 on May 28, 2019. Candidates who have appeared for the exam can check their result from the below given link or official site of RBI at rbi.org.in.

All the selected candidates will be appointed at regional branches of RBI which are based in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur & Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Thiruvananthapuram & Kochi, and others. Candidates who have appeared for the exam can check their result.

About Exam

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is one of the most prestigious and sought after names in the public sector banking industry. It conducts examinations every year to select eligible candidates to recruit them. Since, it’s the governing body of the country, all candidates interested in banking jobs dream to join the RBI.

Application Process

You need to submit your application online. Before you begin the application process, make sure you have all the necessary documents in front of you. Candidates interested in applying for the post the Assistant in RBI will have to apply online.


According to the previous year notification RBI has announced a sum total of 623 vacancies all over the country for the post of RBI Assistant.

Selection Process

For the recruitment of Assistant post to various RBI offices, a candidate needs to clear various phases of RBI Assistant 2017 Recruitment Examination. Some of the essential points related to the selection process for RBI Assistant Recruitment are as follows.

  • RBI Assistant 2017 Recruitment Examination consists of 3 phases – RBI Assistant Prelims, RBI Assistant Mains and Language Proficiency Test (LPT).
  • The candidates who qualify in RBI Assistant Prelims Exam will move to the next round i.e. RBI Assistant Mains.
  • After RBI Assistant 2017 Mains examination, shortlisted candidates will be called for the Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned.
  • The final selection for RBI Assistant Recruitment will be made on the basis of the marks secured in both Mains and LPT round.

Eligibility Criteria

For RBI Assistant Recruitment, RBI has specified a few guidelines which every aspirant needs to follow. Failure to comply or fulfill any of the points under RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria will result in immediate cancellation of RBI Assistant Application Form of the candidate.

Age Limit

Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02/10/1989 and not later than 01/10/1997 (both days including) are only eligible to apply. Upper age limit will be relaxed as under:

 Category  Age Relaxation
 Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe (SC / ST)  By 5 years, i.e. up to 33 years
 Other Backward Classes (OBC)  By 3 years, i.e. up to 31 years
 Ex-Servicemen  To the extent of service rendered by them in Armed Forces plus an additional period of 3 years subject to maximum of 50 years
Persons with Disabilities (PWD)  By 10 years (GEN) 13 years (OBC) & 15 years (SC/ST)
 Candidates having work experience in Reserve Bank of India  To the extent of number of years of such experience, subject to maximum of 3 years

Educational Qualification

As we have explained earlier, there are different trades under RBI Assistant Recruitment. Minimum educational qualification for RBI Assistant Exam 2017 is as follows:

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC.
  • A candidate belonging to Ex-servicemen category (except dependents of ex-servicemen) should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defence service.
  • Candidates applying for the post in a particular recruiting office should be proficient in the language (i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/ any of the states falling under the recruiting office.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

The candidates provisionally selected from the main online examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned (Annex-IV). Candidate not proficient in the Official/Local Language would be disqualified.
  • The above main online tests (except for the Test of English Language) will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.
  • Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests of the online examinations
  • To appear for Mains exam, a candidate has to qualify the Preliminary Examination.
  • There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests (Preliminary and Main examination) i.e 1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Job Profile

RBI Assistant Job Profile

Data Entry (Securing Data): It is the first and foremost job of an RBI Office Assistant to enter important data from various bank files and documents into the computer to safely store it for later use and reference. It is most common chore performed any office assistant in almost all public and private sector banks.

Maintaining Mail Records: This also includes maintaining a record of the data of all the inward and outward emails sent by the bank or received by it.

Reverting Mails (Customer Response): It is the sole responsibility of an assistant to respond and answer all the emails and letters regarding various queries, problems, and glitches. For doing this, he/she is supposed to draft an appropriate response or reply and get it sanctioned by their senior heads and then send to it the concerned person or authorities.

File Handling: An Office Assistant is expected to maintain a record of all the files and important data related to different schemes and matters of the bank.

Responding to RTI Applicants: Again it’s the duty of an assistant to revert and reply to all the RTI queries that are forwarded by the Information Commission to the RBI but only after getting them validated by their senior or the in charge.

RBI Assistant Salary Package

Salary (in rs): Rs.19000-21000

Salary Breakdown: 8,040- 410- 9270- 500- 11,270- 550- 13,470- 650- 15,420- 720- 16,140- 990- 20,100 (20 years)

Also, in addition to the salary, these banks also offer certain perks and allowances. An RBI Office Assistant, apart from the salary, is eligible to receive:

  • Official Accommodation if available, if not one will be compensated with House Rent Allowance.
  • Book Grant and Newspaper Allowance.
  • Conveyance Expenses if you own a vehicle for its maintenance and other expenses.
  • Interest-Free Loans.
  • Leave Fair Concession(LFC) and Leave Travel Concession(LTC) facility for traveling anywhere in the country.
  • Free Medical Care for its employees for treatment or hospitalization of any kind will be fully covered by the RBI.
