The State Bank of India has officially released the annual notification of hiring Probationary Officers in SBI Banks spread all over the country. A total number of 2000 vacancies have been mentioned by State Bank of India in its official notification.

The State Bank of India declared a total vacancy of 2000 posts
The selection of Probationary Officers will be done through a three-tier process:
Phase-I: SBI PO Preliminary Examination 2019
Selection criteria for the Main Examination: Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the Preliminary Examination. Candidates numbering approximately 10 times the numbers of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for the Main Examination from the top of the merit list.
Phase – II: SBI PO Mains Examination 2019
Selection criteria for Group Exercise and Interview: Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the Main Examination. Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approximately) of the category wise vacancies will be shortlisted for the Group Exercise & Interview from the top of the merit list subject to a candidate scoring minimum qualifying score in aggregate.
Phase – III: SBI PO Group Exercises & Interview
Final Selection: The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for preparing the final merit list for selection. Only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), both in Objective Test and Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in GE & Interview (Phase-III) for preparing the final merit list. The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately. Marks secured by the candidates in the Main Examination (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Exercises & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25. The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating converted marks of Main Examination and Group Exercises & Interview out of 100. The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.

Candidates who have already appeared for the maximum number of permissible chances are not eligible to apply. The number of chances will be counted from the examination held on 18.04.2010. Appearing in Preliminary Examination will not be counted as a chance. In the years in which only one written examination has been held (i.e. no Preliminary Examination has been held), appearing in this examination will be counted as a chance.

SBI PO 2019 New Exam Pattern
The State Bank of India has definitely surprised a lot of Banking Aspirants by publishing a New Exam Pattern for SBI PO Exam 2019. The State Bank of India has introduced some major changes this year in SBI PO Prelims Exam Pattern. This Year SBI has Introduced has two major pattern changes in it, i.e., sectional timings (20 minutes for each section) for the three different sections (English, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude).
Some highlights of the changes made in the exam pattern are given below:
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination:
Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Test for 100 marks will be conducted online. The test will have of 3 Sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

Phase – II: Main Examination:
Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive test by typing on the computer. Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after completion of the Objective Test.
(i) Objective Test: The objective test of 3 hours duration consists of 4 Sections for total 200 marks. The objective test will have separate timing for every section.

(ii) Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with two questions for 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).
Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Preliminary and Main examination)
There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at the corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
Phase – III: Group Exercises (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)

EMOLUMENTS
Presently, the starting basic pay is 27,620/- (with 4 advance increments) in the scale
of 23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I. The official will also be eligible for D.A, H.R.A/ Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time. The total compensation per annum on CTC basis be a minimum of 8.20 lacs and maximum of 13.08 lacs depending on place of posting and other factors.
SBI may offer, subject to necessary approvals, a SMART Compensation Package which would enable candidates a choice to monetize specific elements of the salary package.

Is the SBI PO exam Bilingual?
Except for the Descriptive Test for English Language section, all the other tests are bilingual, i.e. available in both English and Hindi.
Is there Negative Marking?
Yes, there is negative marking for wrong answer in the objective tests of both Preliminary and Mains Exam of SBI PO 2018. One fourth of the total marks allotted for that question will be deducted for marking a wrong answer.
Are there fixed timings for different sections?
For the first time, SBI has introduced the sectional timing factor in SBI Clerk Prelims exam pattern. As per the official notification, there are no changes in the Mains examination.
What should I do if there is lot of delay in accessing the page?
Speed for Registration of On-Line Application on Internet, is based on various factors like Internet Speed, large number of applicants trying to register the application at the same time etc. Therefore, if you are not able to get the pages for registration immediately, please retry after a gap of 15 minutes or during off-peak hours in the night.
How do I know that my application is registered?
Successful Registration is indicated by the Page displayed after clicking the Submit Button indicating the generated "REGISTRATION NO." and "PASSWORD". Please note down the same carefully and preserve it. If you do not preserve it, you will not be able to Re-Print the Application and download the Call Letter, results etc.
I did not receive the email intimation for registration of my application?
"REGISTRATION NO." and "PASSWORD" are also sent by auto-response Confirmation emails. Delivery of these emails purely depends upon the correctness of E-Mail ID provided, Policy of your Email Service Provider to accept and Divert such emails under Bulk or Spam Mails or bounce back such mails without accepting it due to heavy number of emails generated by our Applications. In case of Govt./official /company Email Ids, delivery is controlled by your Company Policies. Therefore, please do not expect replies from us, if you do not receive such confirmation / auto-response Emails.
How do I re-confirm that my application is saved?
In case of doubt about the successful Registration, candidates are advised to visit the Page for Re-Print of Application / e-Receipt, generate the Printout and preserve the soft copy and hard copy (printout) of the Application.
What to do if I get Blank / Zero Registration No. after submission of application online?
In rare cases Candidates may get Zero (0) Registration No. with valid Password. Candidates are advised to Re-Register the Application and check the Printout through Re-Print Application.
After filling up the complete form, I got Blank Screen / Internet got disconnected / My PC closed. / hanged / shutdown. Is my application saved / registered?
Please refer to above suggestion. If you do not get the application printout / e-Receipt through Re-Print option, your application is not saved. Please re-apply.
I did not receive the acknowledgement / reply to my email communication?
"Reply to" Email Id for the Application is created for the convenience of the Candidates for genuine communications. Please do not use this address to send back the emails for "Acknowledgment", "Vacation Mail", "Friendship Offers", "Sales Offers" etc. Our Email Server is configured to delete such emails automatically.
What details should I retain while replying to auto-response emails?
While writing back by replying the confirmation emails for a genuine problem, please retain the text containing "REGISTRATION NO." and "PASSWORD" details on the email.
What details should I provide while writing about my problem?
Please do not forget to provide following details while writing to SBI: (1) REGISTRATION NO. (2) MOBILE NO. (3) EMAIL ID as entered in application. In case of application failure or any error message, we would like to have the screenshot of the error in JPG, GIF format or as MS Word file. Additionally, you may provide the PC Details including the Operating System (like Windows XP, Vista, Linux etc.) & Internet Browser & version (like Internet Explorer 6.0, Mozilla 3.0, Firefox 3.5 etc.) used.
I want to change / correct the details I entered in the Application?
Prior to submission of the online application, please choose the 'EDIT' option to correct the details. Please remember to take fresh print out after modifying any details. Candidate should note that the data entered cannot be modified after finally submitting the application.
Note: Field validation behaviour will differ for Tablets/ iPads as of from desktop. (example: Field validation with max length of 10 will not allow to enter 11th digit in Desktop where as on trying to enter the 11th digit value gets cleared in Tablets/ iPads).
