Selection Process

The SBI SO selection procedure consists a two tier selection system i.e. Common Written Exam and Interview. Those who score as per the criterion set by the Bank in the written test will be eligible for the Interview.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for all posts under SBI Special Cadre Officer will be constituted of 2 factors, Age Limit and Educational Qualification.

Deputy General Manager (Law)

Applicants should complete the Post Graduation from the recognized board

  • Special Management Executive (Regular) To apply for SBI Special Cadre Officer 2018 the candidate should possess CA/ ICWA/ ACS/ MBA in Finance or 2 years PG Diploma in Finance
Experience (As on 31.12.2017)
Minimum 5 years post qualification experience (as on 31.12.2017) as an Executive in Supervisory/ Management role :
  • Deputy General Manager (Law – Contractual) Degree in Law (3 years/ 5 years) from a recognized University India.
Experience (As on 31.12.2017)
Enrolled as Advocate with Bar Council and having minimum 17 years of experience as Law Officer
  • Deputy General Manager (Law – Regular)
Degree in Law (3 years/ 5 years) from a recognized University India. Post Graduate degree in Law will be preferable
Experience (As on 31.12.2017) Enrolled as Advocate with Bar Council and having minimum 17 years of experience as Law
  • Officer Deputy Manager (Law – Regular)

Excluding Professional Knowledge, all other papers will be qualifying in nature. Candidates have to acquire equal or above the cutoff to become eligible for appearing in the Interview process.

Job Profile

The job profile of a Bank SO in the marketing department can be quite hectic. The primary responsibility of Marketing Officers is usually around bringing more business to the bank and increase profit. Some of the important tasks assigned to a Specialist Officer in the Marketing Department are as follows.

  • Prepare a cost-effective budget for advertising. In addition to this, they also might be a part of the negotiation team.
  • Manage various marketing channels such as posters, televised commercials, newspaper ads etc. It is also necessary to check and cross-check content shared through these channels.

Bank SO (HR Officer)

Bank SO (Rajbhasha Adhikari)

Hindi is our National Language. Yet the mainstream industry is dominated by English. Hence, in order to promote Hindi in a Bank, a highly qualified candidate gets assigned to the position of Bank SO Rajbhasha Adhikari. The essentials tasks under the post are.

  • Translate and Proofread all the important documents that are circulated in the Bank. These documents can be internal or outbound. It is the duty of Rajbhasha Adhikari to complete this task efficiently.
  • Organize workshops for training bank personnel in the language that is spoken by most of the customers.
  • Rajbhasha Adhikari officers also have to ensure that the official notifications and directives send between the banking government organizations must be in both Hindi and English Language. 

IBPS SO: Salary Package

The salary structure for the IBPS SO is calculated considering all the perks offered to them. However, an SO under Scale I is provided — Rs 14,500 – 600/7 – 18,700 – 700/2 – 20,100 -800/7 – 25,700/- approximately. So, the cash-in-hand will be around Rs. 24,000-32,000 nearly.

Those under IBPS SO Scale II, the BASIC PAY given is Rs 19,400 700/1- 20,100 – 800/10 – 28,100/ approximately. During appointment, the salary will be Rs. 34,000-40,000 approximately. After completion of the first year, an increment of Rs. 700 will be due on the basic pay. After that the increment on the basic pay is Rs. 800/- for the next 10 years.
