There are a number of SSC Exams conducted every year. SSC CPO is conducted for recruiting specific candidates for a number of posts. The Staff Selection Commission has published an official notification informing interested candidates regarding an All India Open Competitive Examination for the recruitment to the posts of Sub-Inspectors in Delhi Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assistant Sub Inspectors in CISF. The recruitment process has been simplified.

A candidate can apply for the following posts under SSC CPO Exam:

Why CPO got Postponed & Expected Date

As predicted by Team Onlinetyari, SSC CPO got postponed!!

The question paper for the SSC CGL examination was found on social media a few minutes before the examination started in February. The incident led to widespread protests by students, forcing the government to order a CBI probe. The Central Bureau of Investigation registered a First Information Report against the vendor. Due to FIR filed by CBI in SSC SCAM CASE, many aspirants had this question in their mind regarding the delay of SSC CPO exam. Due to the above SCAM, SSC will change its vendor. Since the exam will be conducted by a new vendor it is expected to be held in the month of August. Candidates are requested to focus on their studies and score maximum marks in prelims. SSC CPO Exam Postponed

The Staff selection commission has provided an important piece of information regarding the SSC CPO Phase 1 2018 Date of Examination. Previously, SSC announced to conduct SSC CPO exam from 4th June to 10th June 2018, but it has now been postponed. SSC CPO Admit Card Delayed!

The Staff Selection Commission conducts SSC CPO Exam for the recruitment of Sub-Inspectors in Delhi Police, CAPFs and Assistant Sub Inspectors in CISF Examination. A few Months ago, The Staff Selection Commission has published an official notification for the posts of Sub-Inspectors in Delhi Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assistant Sub Inspectors in CISF. However, the commission has not uploaded any notice regarding the of Admit cards. SSC releases the admit card 10 days before the actual exam. Selection Process

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in Paper-I & Paper-II of the examination only. Physical endurance test will not carry any marks but will be of qualifying/elimination nature. All the candidates who qualify in the PET will be medically examined by the Medical Officer of the CAPFs or any other Medical Officer or Assistant Surgeon belonging to Grade I of any Central/ State Govt. Hospital or Dispensary. This means that the aspirants will get the selection by the following process:

  • Written examination (Paper-I & Paper-II)
  • Physical Efficiency Test
  • Medical Examination Test


Allocation of candidates will be made to User Departments depending upon their merit position and the options exercised by them.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for SSC CPO 2018 Examination has been clearly specified in the Exam Notification published by Staff Selection Commission recently. Each SSC aspirant must go through all the important details before applying online.

 

Age Limit

The age limit set for the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police & CAPFs and Assistant Sub Inspector in CISF is 20-25 years. Candidate should note that the Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/ Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate only, will be accepted by the Commission for determining the Age eligibility and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.

Educational Qualification

Candidate must possess Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised University on or before 01.01.2018. Candidates who have not acquired the educational qualification as on 01-01-2018 will not be eligible and need not apply.

SSC CPO Syllabus: General Intelligence

It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc. The topics are, Semantic Analogy, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Figural Analogy, Semantic Classification, Symbolic/Number Classification, Figural Classification, Semantic Series, Number Series, Figural Series, Problem Solving, Word Building, Coding & de-coding, Numerical Operations, symbolic Operations, Trends, Space Orientation, Space Visualization, Venn Diagrams, Drawing inferences, Punched hole/pattern-folding & un-folding, Figural Pattern- folding and completion, Indexing Address matching, Date & city matching Classification of centre codes/roll numbers, Small & Capital letters/numbers coding, decoding and classification, Embedded Figures, Critical thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Social Intelligence, Other subtopics if any.

SSC CPO Syllabus: English Language

Candidates’ understanding of the Basics of English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. his/her writing ability would be tested.

SSC CPO Syllabus: Numerical Aptitude

This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, use of Tables and Graphs, Menstruation, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.

SSC CPO Syllabus: General Awareness

Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate‘s general awareness of the environment around him/ her and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

SSC CPO Syllabus: Paper-2

Questions in this components will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding and knowledge of English Language and will be based on error recognition, filling in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, comprehension etc.
 

Exam Pattern

Candidates appearing for Paper-I will have to appear for Computer Based Test (CBT). However, the Paper-II will be conducted in Pen and Paper mode (Written Examination).

SSC CPO Exam Pattern for Paper I

The Paper I of SSC CPO 2018 consists of objective type questions carrying a total of 200 marks.

The mode of examination will be computer based test. The total time duration of the paper is 2 hours. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.

Questions in both papers will be of Objective Multiple Choice Type. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions. The Commission may at the discretion fix qualifying marks in Paper-II. Job Profile

The post of a Sub-Inspector is considered as an executive-level post. The job profile is considered quite similar to that of an examiner or preventive officer. Hence, your responsibilities will be set depending upon the posting you get.

If you are posted in office, you have to handle a lot of paperwork related to various cases, active or pending.
If you are posted in the field, you will be working with the task force on various cases.

1. Sub Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police
This post carries pay scale of Level-6 (Rs.35400-112400/-) and is classified as Group ‘C’(NonGazetted) by Delhi Police

2. Sub-Inspector (Executive) in CAPFs (Central Armed Police Forces)
This post carries pay scale of Level-6 (Rs.35400-112400/-) and is classified as Group ‘B’ (NonGazetted), Non-Ministerial.

3. Assistant Sub-Inspector (Executive) in CISF (Central Industrial Security Force)
This post carries pay scale of Level-5 (Rs.29200-92300) and is classified as Group ‘C’ (NonGazetted)

No, there will be no marks in PST or PET. It will not carry any marks and it will be of qualifying nature.

If you do not qualify PST/PET, you will not be eligible for Paper II of SSC CPO 2018.


Q6. Will there be any negative marking?

Yes, there will be negative marking in both Paper-1 and Paper-2. For each wrong answer, there will be a deduction of 0.25 marks
