SSC GD Constable Last Date for Online Application Extended (SSC GD कांस्टेबल: आवेदन की अंतिम तिथि बढ़ी)

SSC released an official notification for all SSC GD Constable 2018 aspirants regarding the new end dates for online registration of SSC GD Constable 2018. The Last Day of SSC GD Constable Online Registration has been changed for SSC GD Constable Application Form. the new website of the Commission was running slow, consequent to which some candidates reported inconvenience in submitting their online application forms. Therefore, keeping in view the difficulties faced by some candidates, the Competent Authority, has, in the overall interest of the candidates, decided to extend the closing date for filling up of online application forms for the said examination from 17-09-2018 to 30-09-2018 (5.00 PM). (कर्मचारी भर्ती आयोग(SSC) ने 54,953 पदों पर भर्ती के लिए आवदेन की तारीख को आगे बढ़ा दिया है। इसके जरिये CAPFs, NIA, SSF और राइफलमैन (GD) में कांस्टेबल (GD) पदों पर नियुक्तियां होने वाली हैं। आवेदन की आखिरी तारीख बढ़ाए जाने के बाद उम्मीदवार अब 30 सितंबर शाम 5 बजे तक आवेदन कर सकते हैं। SSC ने अपनी ऑफिशियल वेबसाइट पर जारी नोटिफिकेशन में कहा गया है कि आयोग ने अपनी नई वेबसाइट पर रजिस्ट्रेशन फॉर्म जारी किया है। आयोग के सामने यह बात संज्ञान में आई है कि नई वेबसाइट बहुत स्लो चल रही है। इसके कारण उम्मीदवारों को फॉर्म भरने और सब्मिट करने में दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। इसलिए ऑनलाइन एप्लीकेशन भरने की आखिरी तारीख को बढ़ाकर 17-09-2018 से 30-09-2018 (5.00 PM) कर दिया गया है।)

SSC GD Constable 2018: Important Notice Regarding Online Application

SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2018 Application Submission is scheduled to begin on 17 August 2018, 10 am on the official website of the Staff Selection Commission.
The One-Time Registration process has already initiated by the SSC and candidates interested in applying for 54953 vacancies for the selection of Constable (GD) in CAPFs, NIA, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination 2018 must submit their online applications on or before 17th September 2018, 5pm once the application window opens tomorrow.

SSC GD Constable Recruitment Registration Postponed Again

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has stopped the application registration process for SSC Constable (GD) Examination, 2018 for the second time. In an important notice to the applicants, the commission said that 'due to very heavy load of applications, the new website of the Commission has become very slow and candidates are facing problems in One-Time Registration and submission of online applications' and to mitigate the inconvenience caused to candidates, 'it has been decided to temporarily withhold receiving online applications for the said examination w.e.f. 28-07-2018 (8 PM) for a period of 20 days'. SSC had earlier announced recruitment to 54,953 posts of GD Constables in CAPFs, NIA, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2018.
Now, the receipt of online applications for SSC General Duty (GD) recruitment would commence from August 17, 2018 at 10 AM.

SSC जीडी कांस्टेबल आवेदन प्रक्रिया हुई स्थगित

कर्मचारी चयन आयोग (SSC) की आधिकारिक वेबसाइट अभी ठीक से नहीं खुल पा रही जिससे वेबसाइट पर आवेदन करने वाले उम्मीदवारों को काफी दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। SSC ने 28 जुलाई को एक नया नोटिफिकेशन जारी कर किया है। इस नोटिफिकेशन में आयोग ने कहा है कि ज्यादा आवेदनों से वेबसाइट पर लोड बढ़ गया है जिससे वेबसाइट काफी स्लो खुल रही है। ऐसे में आवेदन की कोशिश कर रहे उम्मीदवारों को असुविधा होगी। अतः इस परेशानी को दूर करने के लिए आयोग ने 20 दिन (28 जुलाई से 16 अगस्त) तक के लिए आवेदन प्रक्रिया स्थगित करने का फैसला किया है।

आयोग के अनुसार जिन लोगों ने अभी तक आयोग वेबसाइट पर अपना रजिस्ट्रेशन करा लिया हो उन्हें दोबारा से रजिस्ट्रेशन कराने की जरूरत नहीं है। जो लोग अभी तक GD Constable Recruitment के लिए अपना आवेदन सब्मिट नहीं कर पाए वे 17 अगस्त 2018 से 17 सितंबर 2018 के मध्य आवेदन कर सकेंगे। आधिकारिक अधिसूचना के लिए ऊपर दिए गए लिंक पर क्लिक करें।

SSC GD Constable Exam 2018: Apply Date Reschedule
Candidates of Constable (GD) in CAPFs, NIA, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2018 may please note that the facility for submission of online applications for the said examination, which was scheduled to be made available to the candidates, on the new website of the Commission from 21-07-2018, could not be done, due to a major technical problem.

Due to above circumstances, the facility for submission of online applications for the said examination has been re-scheduled, and would now be made available on the website of the Commission by 24-07-2018. Accordingly, the last date for submission of the applications has been extended till 24-08-2018 (5 PM). Payment through Challan of SBI can be made at the designated branches of SBI within the Banking hours up to 28-08-2018, provided the challan has been generated before the closing date and time for receipt of applications i.e. 24-08-2018 (5 PM).

SSC GD Constable notification 2018 released for 54,953 Vacancies 
The recruitment will be for the following posts- of Constable (General Duty) in Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles.

  • Interested candidates are advised to apply latest by August 20.
  • Minimum age of the candidate is 19 years, the maximum age is 23 years. However, age relaxation is there for reserved category candidates.
  • Candidates will need to pass the Physical Efficiency Test, Written examination and Medical Test to get the job.

About Exam

Staff Selection Commission conducts SSC Constable GD Examination for the recruitment of Constable under various Department of Police. The Staff Selection Commission is functioning under the Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India. It was set up on 1 July 1976 primarily to make recruitment on zonal basis for non-technical Group C posts under the Central Government. The main functions are to conduct examinations and interviews, wherever required, for recruitment to the posts within our purview. How to prepare for SSC Constable GD Examination -

SSC Constable GD Examination is conducted every year to recruit constables in various departments. We at Onlinetyari always believe in making things easier and available for the candidate.

All candidates whose online applications are found to be in order will be called to appear in the Computer Based Examination (CBE). The Computer based examination will consist of one objective type paper containing 100 questions (4 sections - Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English and General Awareness) carrying 100 marks. Once You get selected in Tier I (CBE), you will have to appear for the Tier II: PET/ PST and Interview.

The Ideal Strategy for Computer Based Examination (CBE) will be as follows:

  • Practice Questions on each topic to enhance accuracy
  • Attempt Sectional Mock Test to hone your skills and accuracy.

Application Process


(i) Fee payable: Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only).
(ii) Fee can be paid through SBI Challan/ SBI Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard or Maestro Credit or Debit card.
(iii) Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of
(iv) Applications received without the prescribed fee shall not be considered and summarily rejected. No representation against such rejection will be entertained. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances nor will it be adjusted against any other examination or selection.
Note-I: Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Note-II: The facility for submission of online application including payment of fee will be available from 21.07.2018 to 20.08.2018 (5.00PM). However, candidates who
wish to make the payment through challan of SBI, may make the payment at designated branches of SBI within the working hours of bank up to 23.08.2018 provided the challan has been generated by them before closing date and time for receipt of applications i.e 20.08.2018 (5.00 P.M.).
Note-III: Candidates who are not exempted from fee payment must ensure that their fee has been deposited with SSC. If the fee is not received by SSC, status of Application Form is shown 'Incomplete' and this information is printed on the top of the Application Form. Further, such status can be verified at 'Check your Application Status Here" tab provided at Such applications which remain incomplete due to non-receipt of fee will be SUMMARILY REJECTED and no request for consideration of such applications and fee payment after the period specified in the Notice of Examination shall be entertained by SSC.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate must be a citizen of India. Vacancies are state/ UT wise hence a candidate must submit domicile/ PRC against his/ her state/ UT.

Physical Standard for GD Constable Exam 2018


For Males: 170 cms
For Females: 157 cms


For Male: Expanded 80 cms
Minimum expansion 5 cms


Proportionate as per the height and medical standard for male and female.

Age Limit


Candidate's age should be between 18 to 23 years as on 01.08.2018. 

Note-I: The upper age limit is relaxable for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other categories of persons in accordance with the Governments orders on the subject.
Note-II: Candidates should note that only the Date of Birth and Name as recorded in the Matriculation/ Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate will be accepted by the Commission for determining the age and name. No subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.
Age relaxation codes available to different categories of candidates for claiming age relaxation as on the date of reckoning are as follows:

Educational Qualification


Matriculation or 10th class pass from a recognized Board/ University.
(i) Candidates who have not acquired the essential educational qualification as on 01.08.2018 will not be eligible and need not apply.
(ii) The candidates must bring all relevant documents/ certificates in original with self attested copies pertaining to age, education, caste, domicile, hill area, any
category for relaxation, No Objection Certificate (NOC)/ discharge certificate (in case of ex-servicemen), which will be checked/ verified at the time of DME by CAPF Board.
(iii) The candidates who are able to prove, by documentary evidence, that the result of the qualifying examination was declared on or before the cutoff date i.e.
01.08.2018 and he/ she has been declared passed, will be considered to have the requisite Educational Qualification.

Exam Pattern

The SSC GD Constable recruitment exam comprises of three levels i.e. Written Exam, PET and Medical Test. All candidates whose online applications are found to be in order will be called to appear in the Computer Based Examination (CBE). The Computer-based examination will consist of one objective type paper containing 100 questions carrying 100 marks, with the following composition:

SSC GD Constable Job Profile

The roles and responsibilities allotted to SSC GD Constable are as follows:

  • SSC GD Constable acts as SHO in the absence of Sub-Inspector and Asst. Sub-Inspector.
  • He/ She is authorized to hold inquests and make investigation when asked by the Sub Inspector to do so.
  • SSC GD Constable is recruited to perform official duties allotted by SHO.
  • He/ she will be in charge of guard or escort when deputed.

Head Constables are mainly employed to be in charge of general duty in police stations, as station writer, as an officer in charge of outpost and guards, armed reserves, in charge of beat areas in rural and town police stations.
