Final Result of Recruitment to the post of Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff in Different States and Union Territories, 2016 – Uploading of Marks of Paper-II

Staff Selection Commission declared the final result of the above mentioned Examination on 28-4-2018. It was mentioned in the Result Write Up that Marks of the Qualified and Non Qualified candidates in Paper – II will be uploaded on the website of the Commission in due course.
2. A total of 159182 candidates appeared in the Paper-II Examination. Out of this, 13 candidates were debarred candidates and cases of 220 candidates were found to be doubtful and would need further verification/ investigation. Further, 127 candidates were rejected due to use of Unfair Means in the Examination for Recruitment to the post of Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff in different States and Union Territories, 2016.

3. Marks of 13 Debarred, 220 withheld and 127 rejected candidates are not uploaded on the website.
4. Accordingly, marks of 158822 (= 159182 – 13 – 220 – 127) candidates are uploaded on the website of the Commission from 16 -05-2018 to 15-06-2018.

Final result of Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff Recruitment 2016

Candidates who were waiting for the final result of Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff Recruitment 2016 has been declared. Click here to download the PDF.

As per the final result, a total of 23511 candidates had qualified for Document Verification against 10674 vacancies. However, results of 161 candidates were withheld on the grounds of suspected malpractices during the examination.

About Exam

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) of India opens up Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) for Non Technical posts from time to time. The last SSC MTS had 8300 vacancies. Candidates recruited as SSC MTS are given many responsibilities. Scroll below and read "Job Profile" section to know more.


Application Process

To apply for the SSC MTS examination, candidates should:

  • Visit the official website or click here to visit the official site of SSC
  • Check application updates under the “NOTICES” section of the website.
  • Click on apply for SSC MTS exam
  • Fill in form along with supporting documents
  • Pay fees and take a screenshot of the registration number.
  • Check email and mark the official mail of SSC as “Star”, which means important, so they can view in future too.
  • Candidates who have given the SSC MTS exam can check their results by logging in with their registration number and password on the official website of Staff Selection Commission.

The last SSC MTS exam had approximately 8300 vacancies. The same or less or more number of vacancies can be expected in the upcoming SSC MTS 2018 examination.

Selection Process

The selection process of SSC MTS involves the following steps:


This is be an objective type of paper and would involve four sections:

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning
  • Numerical Aptitude
  • General English and
  • General Awareness

Paper 2

Those who clear Paper-1 would be informed about Paper-2. This paper would be a descriptive type of examination, and would involve:

Short essay/Letter writing: The essay would have to be written in English language or any other language mentioned within the 8th schedule of constitution. Please note this would be a qualifying exam to judge the elementary language skills of candidates.

Document Verification

The third and final step for clearing SSC MTS would be Document Verification, wherein all certificates of candidates who have cleared Paper-2 would be checked. Thereafter, selected candidates would be given their requested or suitable locations as well as designations.

Eligibility Criteria

To be selected for SSC MTS, candidates must have the following requirements:

Nationality: Candidates applying for SSC MTS should have Indian nationality. They also require to show their certificates at the the point of document verification.

Age Limit: The age limit for applying for SSC MTS is between 18 to 29 years. The upper age limit for other candidates differs from general. Click here to know more.

Educational Qualification: Candidates applying for SSC MTS should have passed matriculation board or equivalent from recognized university.

Educational Qualification

All aspiring candidates who want the post of SSC MTS need to have passed from matriculation board or equivalent. They need to show their certificates at the time time of document verification.


The syllabus for Paper-1 of SSC MTS exam would:

General Intelligence would include questions based on concepts like:

  • Similarities and differences,
  • Space visualization,
  • Problem solving,
  • Analysis,
  • Judgement,
  • Decision making,
  • Visual memory,
  • Discriminating observation,
  • Relationship concepts,
  • Figure classification,
  • Arithmetical number series,
  • Non-verbal series etc.

English Language would include questions based on concepts like:

  • Basics of Language,
  • Vocabulary,
  • Grammar,
  • Sentence structure,
  • Synonyms,
  • Antonyms, and
  • Correct usage of all the above mentioned concepts, etc

General Awareness would include questions based on concepts like:

  • India and its neighbouring countries
  • Sports,
  • History,
  • Culture,
  • Geography,
  • Economic scene,
  • General Polity including Indian Constitution, and
  • Scientific Research, etc

Job Profile

The job profile of candidates applying for the post of SSC MTS includes the following responsibilities:

  • Making sure about general cleanliness and upkeep of all the section(s)/unit(s).
  • Physically carry files and papers to various departments within the building.
  • Physically maintaining records of various section(s).
  • Sending fax, photocopying, etc.
  • Completing non-clerical work within the section/unit.
  • Providing assistance in routine office work such maintaining diary, dispatch, records, etc.
  • Providing computer assistance.
  • Manually cleaning rooms, dusting furniture etc.
  • Physically deliver Dak outside of the building.
  • Providing watch and ward duties to the building.
  • Making sure all rooms are open and close on time.
  • Cleaning building, fixtures, etc.
  • Handling work related to ITI (if he/she has ITI qualifications).
  • Driving vehicles, (if he/she has valid driving license)).
  • Upkeep and maintenance of lawns, parks, potted plants, etc.
  • Completion of any other work assigned by a superior person or authority.
