SSC Stenographer Result Date Announced
The Staff Selection Commission has conducted the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination, 2018 from 5.2.2019 to 8.2.2019. The tentative date for the declaration of the result of this examination is 15th April 2019.
The shift I of Stenographer Grade & Examination 2018, which was held from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on 05/02/2019, has been canceled and is re-scheduled to be held on 08/02/2019 from 03:00 pm to 05:00 pm. It may be noted that re-examination of this Shift, on 08/02/2019, will only be conducted for the candidates who had appeared in Shift I on 05/02/2019. The Examination of this Shift has been canceled because of the inadvertent enabling of E-Calculator on candidate’s console. The inconvenience caused to candidates is regretted.

Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination 2017 – tentative date of declaration of final result
The Staff Selection Commission declared the result of Skill Test of Stenographers Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination, 2017 on 28-11-2018. The Commission will declare the final result of SSC Stenographer on 29-03-2019.
SSC Stenographer Final Result Date Postponed
The Staff Selection Commission has declared the result of Skill Test of Stenographers Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination, 2017 on 28-11-2018 An additional result of the Skill Test for the said Examination was also declared on 10-12-2018. Now a number of representations have been received from candidates concerning the evaluation of Skill Test. The Commission has, therefore, in the larger interest of candidates who have appeared in the Skill Test for the said Examination, decided to revisit the evaluation of Skill Test and is undertaking a comprehensive review on all aspects of evaluation of Skill Test. This exercise is expected to take some time. Accordingly, pending such review, the final result of the Examination will not be declared on 28-12-2018.

The official exam dates for SSC Grade C & D are finally out. Staff Selection Commission will conduct Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ’D’ Examination, 2018 between 5th to 7th February 2019. Click here to download and view official notification.
SSC Stenographer Grade C & D Additional Result Declared
The result of Skill Test of the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination, 2017 was declared by the Commission on 28-11-2018 wherein 601 candidates qualified for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 2211 candidates qualified for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’. Some representations about the evaluation of Skill Test were received from the candidates. A comprehensive examination of the result of Skill Test declared on 28-11-2018 was undertaken by the Commission and it was observed that the Skill Test of only one Batch i.e. Batch-III of the Stenographer Grade ‘D’ - Hindi held on 09-09-2018 in SSC (Northern Region) was inadvertently evaluated with the wrong Master. Thereafter, based on the re-evaluation of the Skill Test for the said shift with the correct Master Passage, 56 additional candidates have qualified in the Skill Test
NOTE: The schedule of Document Verification for these 56 additional candidates will be held on 12-12-2018 and 13-12-2018.

The selection process of SSC Stenographer for Group “C” & Group “D” involves the following steps:
Step 1:
Computer Based Test or CBT
This is the primary paper for all candidates applying for the post of SSC Stenographer. All aspirants need to get adequate number of marks in three sections namely, General Awareness, English Language & Comprehension and General Intelligence & Reasoning in order to clear the exam.
The question paper will include 200 questions worth 200 marks. Candidates would be given a total time 2 hours to read, write, check and correct their answers before the final submission.
Step 2:
Skill or Computer Proficiency Test
Candidates who have clear Paper-1- CBT would be called/notified about Skill/Computer Proficiency Test.
Important Note:
*SSC will declare the minimum number of marks required to clear Paper-1 of SSC Stenographer exam.
*¼ marks of total marks assigned to a question would be deducted for selecting each wrong answer.
Step 3
Candidates who clear Paper-2 would be notified by email or can check their result on the official website of SSC.
SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Eligibility Criteria 2020 consists of a set of requirements and clauses in terms of age, educational qualification and nationality.

Like mentioned above, Stenographers are broadly divided into two categories, namely, Grade “C” and Grade “D”.
Candidates recruited as “Stenographers” in Grade “C” are mostly placed in the national capital of India-Delhi. Also, they are either part of Ministries or Departments of Central Government.
However, candidates recruited as “Stenographers” in Grade “D” are further grouped in Group “X” and Group “Y”. All Group “X” candidates are assigned work under the Department of Central Government located at Delhi. Group “Y” candidates are assigned to work Department of Central Government and are placed across PAN India.
