The Staff Selection Commission or SSC is a part of Department of Personnel and Training(DoPT), a body under Government of India. SSC CHSL Exam: Introduction

The Staff Selection Committee, an organization under the Government of India, under the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) is responsible for recruiting members of the government for various departments and ministries at a state level and at a union level.Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts one of the famous exams of the country which is the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examination. SSC CHSL Exam: Application Procedure:

Applications will be accepted online after the release of the notification. Candidates can fill the form by visiting the official website -

SSC CHSL Exam : Eligiblity Criteria : Nationality, Age, Educational Qualification

Nationality - A candidate must be a citizen of India

Age Eligiblity - Candidate between age of 20 to 27 are eligible to apply for the same.

Educational Qualification - Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

What is SSC CHSL Selection Procedure?

The seletion procedure will consist of a written test then a skill test followed by typing test (applicable for Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant & Lower Division Clerk on Computer.)

What is SSC CHSL Exam Pattern? 

The written examination will consist of one objective type – Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi for Part-I, III & IV. Examination will be held for 200 Marks in the duration of 2 Hours for General candidates. There will be a 1/4 negative marking for all the candidates

SSC CHSL Syllabus:

Based on the Exam pattern, the syllabus for the Examination is majorly divided into four sections: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and English .

How to prepare for SSC CHSL?

SSC CHSL Examination is conducted every year to recruit Data Entry Operator (DEO), Lower Division Clerk (LDC) and Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant posts. We at Onlinetyari always believe in making things easier and available for the candidate.

  • The exam pattern will consist of Computer Based Examination(Tier-I), Descriptive Pattern(Tier-II) and Typing/Skill Test(Tier-III).
  • Computer Based Examination (Tier-1) would have only objective type multiple choice question. It should be noted that questions would be given in both English and Hindi language under Part II, III and IV.
  • Negative marking of 0.50 would be given for each wrong answer.
  • The SSC would release the Answer Key on the official website of State Selection Commission website.
  • Any representation regarding answer keys received within the time limit mentioned by the Staff Selection Commission at the time of uploading of the answer keys will be scrutinized. The decision of the SSC in this regard will be final. No representation regarding Answer keys shall be entertained/taken, afterwards.
  • As a section under a government body of India, SSC reserves the right to introduce any additional stages of examination and would notify for the same under suitable time frame, if considered to be necessary.
