Staff Selection Commission conducts SSC Constable GD Examination for the recruitment of Constable under various Department of Police. The Staff Selection Commission is functioning under the Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India. It was set up on 1 July 1976 primarily to make recruitment on zonal basis for non-technical Group C posts under the Central Government. The main functions are to conduct examinations and interviews, wherever required, for recruitment to the posts within our purview. The examinations are held as far as possible at different centers and successful candidates posted, to the extent possible, to their home state/region.

SSC Constable GD: Introduction

SSC Constable GD: Post wise Description

  • Name of the post: Constable General Duty (GD) & Riflemen
  • Name of the Department: CISF, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, NIA, SSF and rifleman in Assam rifles

SSC Constable GD: Eligiblity Criteria - Age, Nationality, Educational Qualification, Physical Standards

Age Limit - As per SSC GD Constable Notification, the applicant’s age as on 01-07-2016 must be between -

  • 18 to 21 years for Male Constable Post
  • 18 to 25 years for Female Constable Post

Nationality - A candidate must be a citizen of India.

Educational Qualification - Candidates should have 10+2 (Senior Secondary) pass from a recognized Board/ University.

SSC Constable GD: Selection Procedure

The SSC GD Constable Recruitment Exam comprises of three stages:

  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Medical Test (MT)
  • Written Examination

The SSC GD Constable recruitment exam comprises of three levels i.e. PET, Written Exam and Medical Test. SSC will conduct written examination of candidates qualified in PE/MT in both online and offline mode.

How to prepare for SSC Constable GD Examination -
