Selection Process

Selection of candidates for UP Police 49568 Constable Recruitment 2018 will be done on the basis of performance/evaluation in -

  • Computer Based Examination:After you get selected in the written test, you will go through verification process.
  • Document Verification and Physical Standard Test: Your documents for educational qualification, age, caste, etc. will be verified. Verification of whether you meet the physical criteria or not will also take place.
  • Phisical Efficiency Test (PET): After passing verification, you will have to go through Physical Test.
  • After passing Physical Test, you will have to go through Medical Test & Character Verification.

Final Selection

You will have to qualify all the stages to get selected in the final Merit List. If you qualify all the stages, you will be hired as a UP Police Constable.​

Educational Qualification

Educational Qualification:

Constable (Citizen Police) and Constable (Provincial Armed Constabulary) – To apply for UP Police Constable vacancies, a candidate must be 12th pass from any recognised board or university.

Desirable Qualification:

1. DOEACC / NIELIT ‘O’ level Computer certificate. or

2. Two years experience in Provincial Arrmy. or

3. NCC ‘B’ Certificate.

1.General Hindi

Hindi and regional language, Hindi grammar, Noun, Pronoun, Adjective, Tense, Verb, Idiom phrase, One word substitution, Reading comprehension, Famous poets, Award in Hindi language, Miscellaneous.

2. General Knowledge

General Science, main focus on biology and health related programs, Indian Economy and Indian history, Freedom struggle of 1857, FDI and population survey, Indian geography and world geography, Relations with neighbouring countries, Law and administration of UP, Computer knowledge and Cyber act knowledge.

3. Numerical & Mental Ability Test

 Number System, Simplification, Decimal & Fraction, HCF & LCM, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple Interest, Compound Interest, Partnership, Time & Work, Distance, Use of Table & Graph, Mensuration & Miscellaneous.

Mental Ability Test

Logical Diagrams, Symbol-Relationship Interpretation, Codification, Perception Test, Word Formation Test, Letter and number series, Word and alphabet Analogy, Common Sense Test, Letter and number coding, Direction Sense Test, Logical interpretation of data, Forcefulness of argument, Determining implied meanings.

4. Mental Aptitude Test/Intelligence Quotient Test/Test of Reasoning

Job Profile

The roles and responsibilities allotted to Constable are as follows:

  • Constable acts as SHO in the absence of Sub-Inspector and Asst. Sub-Inspector.
  • He/ She is authorized to hold inquests and make investigation when asked by the Sub Inspector to do so.
  • Constable is recruited to perform official duties allotted by SHO.
  • He/ she will be in charge of guard or escort when deputed.
  • Head Constables are mainly employed to be in charge of general duty in police stations, as station writer, as an officer in charge of outpost and guards, armed reserves, in charge of beat areas in rural and town police stations.

Career Path of Constables
Certain promotions are given on the basis of performance in departmental exam while certain are given on the service. The time period is different for all departments. The promotion of a Constable are as follows:
